HARLEM WIZARDS TAIWAN TOUR 2008

The Wizards delighted fans on their five game tour of Taiwan. This was the Wizards 2nd Tour of Taiwan.
The first game added spice as the Wizards put their 3000+ game winning streak on the line as the took on SuperPro Champs Taiwan Beer. Eight thousand fans watched the exciting matchup.
2-1-08 — HARLEM WIZARDS HUGE SENSATION IN TAIPEI
Last Night at Taipei Stadium a huge crowd came out to see the Wizards highly anticipated game vs Taiwan SBL Pro league Champions Taiwan Beer at Taipei Arena
No one left disappointed, as this matchup produced exciting basketball, mixed in with Harlem Wizards showmanship and crowd pleasing fun. The Wizards began the night with an action packed; razzle-dazzle opening created by Wizards, Arnold "A-Train" Bernard, and player coach Eric "Broadway" Jones.
The first quarter, the teams went toe to toe. Taiwan Beer pulled away early to a 17-9 lead, playing the team game to perfection, and passing their way to an array of three point shots.
The Wizards dug in to protect their 3000+ game winning streak. Rocket Man was on fire and kept the Wizards from falling into an insurmountable deficit. A-Train entered the game, and settled the Wizards offense down, establishing lowpost dominance, with Wizard big men, Anthony "Any Way You Want it" Richardson and Shawn "Murder" Simpson.
It went back and forth, like a heavyweight title fight, but the Wizards took the lead with a thunderous dunk by Anthony Richardson to end the first quarter 31-30 Wizards.
In the second quarter, Lloyd "Loonatik" Clinton gave the Wizards a needed spark, on offense, as well a blanketing Taiwan Beer's #1 player, league SBL MVP and sharpshooter.
Swoop "The Big Kid" Simpson came in and gave the Wizards some big offensive rebounds, and steals, and Anthony Richardson and John Harvey "High Octane" heated up, thrilling the crowd with some dazzling moves and thunderous dunks.
The Wizards ended the first half with a 10 point lead.
The Wizards gave the Wizards a taste of their audience participation fun, as Swoop "The Big Kid" Simpson played catch with Taipei youngsters.

In the Third quarter, the game started becoming more of an exhibition, as Taiwan Beer substituted liberally, and the Wizards led by the energy and play of David "DP" Paul pulled away.
In the fourth quarter Taiwan Beer put in their starting five and made a run and cut the lead to 11, but the Wizards held off the charge. With a 17 point lead and 3 minutes to go the Wizards gave the fans of Taipei what US fans love to see and expect to experience at a Wizards game. Swoop started the fun by fouling the Taiwan Beer center and carrying him around the court.
Pat DA Rock ended the game with a dunk that put the exclamation point on the evening!
The other four games featured match ups vs celebrities and college teams.
